Back to School

Well the kids have been back two days and it is so nice. I always wondered what that Christmas song meant when it says "Mom and Dad wish school to start again" Now I really know. LOL . I had a friend over for the afternoon and it was so nice just to hang out while her kids played with mine. We finished up the invites for a baby shower and got my new vacuum put together. My other one quite while Matt was vacuuming for the company party. You know you might not want to ever be a piece of equipment and quit working on him. Thankfully his shop vacuum (which is very reliable) came in handy.

Just to give everyone an update of my weight loss I am down 3 pounds. Also one of the challenges that was put out was to run/walk a 5K by April or May. So I have committed myself to it and have to look up when there might be a 5K in our area. They gave us a website that is called Couch -to- 5K Running plan and is a plan for 9 weeks with a workout 3 days a week to get you prepared. So today is my first day. I am quite excited about it. To even think of running in any event... The cool thing is I really haven't done this much exercises since I was in college. Scary.

Dawn that is so awesome! Way to go! I am desperately wanting to commit myself to a workout schedule atleast three days a week. We have gym passes through Marcus' work, but have yet to get going this semester. Keep up the good work!

Tell me about it, you also don't want to be helping matt install a car stereo and it not work right. I can say this from experience. That is funny though.

Dawn that is awesome about preparing for a 5k. Something I have absolutelly loved as a training tool has been the ipod and nike+ stuff. its not as expensive to get now too because ipod just came out with new nanos and so you can find the old nano on ebay for less and they work with the nike+ and you can find nike+ shoes on clearance and the sensor is about $30.00. If you can work it into your budget it will definately improve your training. Give me a call if you want more info about it.

That Nike+ stuff is so cool. There's a sensor in your show (and in your ipod) that records your pace and distance and all sorts of awesome stuff while you're running/walking. When you plug your ipod into your computer it automatically downloads all your stuff into a chart that shows your progress. You can also set it up to have challenges with other people. My favorite thing is that you can program it so if you start slowing down more than you want to you can make it play your "power song". It's so cool and Marcus is right, if you shop around for slamming deals they're out there.

Sounds like we work for nike or something...maybe they should hire us.

Marcus and Anna you would be so proud. I am now down 6 pounds from last week and did the second set of recommended workout for training this morning (died about half way through, but I did it)I followed that with a good yoga/pilates streach routing from a dvd.

Keep in mind the St. Jude Marathon in December! You know alot if not MOST of the current treatments used all over the world come from St. Jude:) They hold a 5k, half and full Marathon the first weekend in December. Allen wants to do either the 5k or the half this year. If he does it, Jon will probably do the 5K with him.....the half if he trains:) I MIGHT walk the 5K:) or I might just continue in my roll as fabutastic cheerleader:) You can run on Jake's team or just pick any team to join. I don't think there is a mandatory fundraising amount. But if you started now reaching a small goal would be super easy! Lemme know if you want more information!
